Freeverse Software
3D Card Games come to Windows XP, Mac OS X
The best online card game
series on the planet is now available for computers
running the newest operating systems from Apple and
Microsoft. Freeverse's 3D Card Games (Spades, Hearts,
Euchre, and Pitch) are the only games on any computer
that actually look and feel like you're playing a real
game of cards.
Additionally, the 3D Cards Deluxe series is available in boxed form at Amazon.com, The Apple Store, CompUSA, Electronics Boutique, or your favorite software retailer. It's one of the sleeker, smaller sized boxes, so look for it in the games section. Each title comes with a printed book that explains the rules of many popular card games, and an additional bonus!
Internet play comes built-in, without
having to launch a web browser or launch any fussy Java
applets. You can even find opponents quickly via
GameSmith, our easy to use opponent matching service. Try
it for FREE with a downloadable demo at:

There's an iPod in my Arena!
There's an iPod digital audio player hidden
somewhere inside the dungeon on Arcane Arena, Freeverse's
online roleplaying game for Macintosh computers.
Freeverse's President Ian Lynch Smith is giving away the
iPod to the first gamer who can find it, hidden somewhere
in the depths of the 99-story subterranean dungeon.
So far, three hints to the iPod's whereabouts
have been released since early November, and more hints are sure
to come. But you can't find it if you aren't looking for
it. Search for it for free!

More Games for More Platforms
Last month, more Freeverse games came to Mac OS X and Windows! In addition to the other four 3D Card Games, which went to both platforms, 3D Bridge Deluxe and Classic Cribbage, and Burning Monkey Puzzle Lab came to Mac OS X. Meanwhile, Wingnuts came to Windows. More Freeverse games now work on more computers than ever before.
Other Freeverse Titles that have been announced: Burning Monkey Solitaire III is almost ready for Beta. Xpression! has been released to testers, and is shaping up for a late 2002 or early 2003 release. And we're busy thinking up cool code names for titles that are unannounced and upcoming. More on those next time.
Payback for Macintosh coming to North America
If you prefer car stealing to
bid stealing (or if the reference to bid stealing went
right over your head), keep your eye out for Payback,
possibly the most unneccesarily violent game for the
Macintosh since Postal. Steal cars, buses, vans, and even
ice cream trucks as you tear up the town, either working
for a crime boss, or just blowing stuff up.
Freeverse will distribute the European game
in North America. Payback is the latest of hit games
published in the UK by Virtual Programming. To find out
more about Payback (and to sign up for the Payback notification
list, so you can be among the first in North America to play the game), visit

What's Jen Cookin'?
Hi
gang!
When I'm not razzing players online, I like preparing and eating food. I am not a gourmet genius, but I enjoy finding easy-to-make recipes and sharing them.
This recipe is a favorite of mine for when I've been invited to a friend's house, and I want to bring some finger food. You can make it for under $10, and you'll probably have plenty of olive oil left over afterwards, so you can cook with something healthier.
Even cooler, this recipe doesn't require any cooking! Just throw it together 10 minutes before you leave for that holiday party, and people will start thinking you're a real gourmet!
Jen's 3D Mozzarella Deluxe
| Qty | Ingredient |
|---|---|
| 1 tbsp | extra virgin olive oil |
| some | fresh (or dried) basil leaves |
| 2 | roma or plum tomatoes |
| 8 oz | fresh mozzarella |
It's important to know what Fresh Mozzarella is before you make this. It's not a block of cheese. It's a light, puffy cheese sold in plastic bowls, soaking in cheesewater. It looks almost like tofu.
Cut the ends off of the tomato, then cut the tomato into 1/2 inch thick circles.
Cut the mozzarella into circles (use a piece that's smaller around than the tomato), and put a circle on top of each of the tomato slices. If you feel like an artist, cut it into the shape of a star.
Put a basil leaf on top of the mozzarella. Shake on some salt and pepper, and drizzle some olive oil over each piece.
Everyone's fingers will get somewhat oily from the olive oil, but it'll wipe off on their shirts when they rub their tummies in satisfaction.
Monty says: This recipe could be tastier with some raisins and hot habanero peppers (or habanero sauce). The contrast of hot and sweet tastes will make you into a Burning Monkey!
Like this recipe? Forward it to a friend!
Freeverse Tip: PicturePuppets
Did you know that the 3D Cards Deluxe series supports both pre-made puppets, and a generic PicturePuppet that lets you drop in your own face with ease? Just drag a picture of yourself to the PicturePuppet button, and within seconds, your online opponents will see your smiling face when you beat them.
Monkey Chuckles
Droppa Mapantz: If you had ten dollars in one pocket and you asked Jen for another ten dollars, How much would you have?
Monty Zuma: Ten dollars.
Droppa Mapantz : You can't add!
Monty Zuma: You don't know Jen!
A man is walking past a Monkey cage in the zoo, when he hears the monkeys noisily chanting, "Thirteen! Thirteen! Thirteen!". Thinking he's discovered a new behavior of the monkeys, he pokes his head into the cage.
Suddenly, the man was pelted with leftover monkey food and whatever else the monkeys could find to throw at him. As he walked off, disgusted, he heard the monkeys chant:
"Fourteen! Fourteen! Fourteen!"
